Tom Anthony presented the MBA with information on the current CCR report and noted that there were extra copies in the back for everyone to have and review. If anyone has questions please contact Mr. Anthony

 

Approval of the agenda: Motion by Lesley supported by Kim, all voted in favor.

 

Approval of the minutes of June 2, 2004: Motion by Lesley Supported by Kayla, all voted in favor.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Lesley noted that the bank balance is $3583.68, total contributions to the stage project was $2475.00. Vote was taken to pay a bill for RB Printing in the amount of $320 for the Community Newsletter motion by Dan supported by Kayla to pay the bill in the amount of $320, all voted in favor.

 

Fundraising Ideas For Park: Several ideas were tossed around and it was decided to have Dick Roberts look into doing a Raffle for a big screen TV to be done during the Mattawan Days Festival. Dick will report back to MBA at the next meeting.

 

Dissolution of Festival Board: Discussion regarding the dissolution of the festival board and turning it over to the MBA. Lori noted that the festival board voted not to dissolve the organization. Ideas were discussed on getting more help and funds. Rob asked that it be on the record that he did not wish to get rid of any boards or people.  It was decided to leave things as they are and Lori will continue to report to the MBA on the festival and MBA members we invited to join the festival board.

 

Electrical Wiring for the Park: Tom Anthony has noted that the cost to run the electric to the other side of the park would run about $500. Rob asked that we purchase all the materials from Tom Brown to support our local business members. Motion by Lesley supported by Chad to approve the purchase of the materials from Mattawan Hardware all voted in favor.

 

MBA Marketing Brochure: The guides are now completed from Shoreline Publications and there are still problems such as the business park ad is wrong, some businesses have not received their copies, Gregory Newell’s map dot is missing, some fronts had no print and the customer service left much to be desired. Lori will check to see if they have actually been delivered to travel centers.
