Meeting Agenda
August 5, 2009

 

2.        Welcome – Eric James introduced himself to the group, he has opened an Edward Jones office on the corner of 25^th and Red Arrow Highway

3.        Attendance – Karen, Dawn, Jean, Tom, Lori, Lauren, Kathy and Eric James
Kayla was excused due to a family emergency

4.        Additions to the agenda - None

5.        Approval of the agenda Motion by Jean supported by Kathy, motion carries

6.        Approval of the minutes of July 1, 2009 –Motion by Dawn supported by Jean to approve the minutes as written.

7.        Treasurers Report – Kayla was unable to attend the meeting, but sent a treasurers report to the board. Checking balance of $464.14 and Savings of $5037.51. A check was written to the MPEF for the scholarship in the amount of $500.

A.       New business welcome plaque – Medicine Tree Pharmacy (opening August 18^th). Tom Brown and Lori Anthony will present the plaque to Don Jacks, Owner.

B.       Business Presentations at MBA Meetings - The MBA will begin having a slot open for business members to do a 10-minute presentation to the board each month at the agenda allows. Motion by Jean supported by Lauren, motion carries.

·         Motion made by Tom supported by Dawn to have Wagoners/Lori to cater the dinner, motion carries.

·         Lori also asked the group about RSVP’s for the event. Lauren, Tom, Lori, Dawn and Jean responded with attendee numbers.

·         A motion was made by Kathy supported by Lauren to present Tonya Schuitmaker with a cookie bouquet to thank her for her presentation of honors. Motion carried.

·         Discussion was held over the cost of tickets for the dinner. A motion was made by Kathy supported by Dawn to charge $20 for a couple or $12 for a single ticket. Motion carried. 

·         The board will host another silent auction this year. Kathy, Jean, Lauren and Lori will donate items for the auction. Lori will also look for additional dontations.

·         Ticket locations will be at Gregory Newell Insurance, Wagoners (See Karen Specifically) and Mattawan Hardware.
