Meeting Minutes

March 5, 2003

 

 

 

Board members present: Lori Anthony, Leslie Benson, Dawn Kobreek, John Jackson, Tom Brown, Rob Keorkunian, Kayla Ranger-Dean, Janet Zagar

 

Board Members Absent: Chad Slider, Kim Cox, Dan Carlson

 

Others Present: Teresa Seim, Bob Wagoner

 

Meeting called to order at 12:10 p.m.

 

Teresa Seim is the new owner of Mattawan Family Eye Care in Mattawan. Her office is located in the Main St. Pub Plaza. Bob Wagoner is the owner of Wagoners Grocery Store and is hoping to reopen by the fall of 2003.

 

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Jackson, support by Mr. Keorkunian to approve the February minutes without changes. All approved, motion carried.

 

Addition/Deletion to the agenda: The newsletter committee did not meet, the newsletter committee report was removed from the agenda.

 

Treasurers Report: Mr Jackson stated that we currently have $960 in the bank. 

 

Festival Update: Ms. Anthony gave an update report to the MBA in regards to festival Wild West plans for 2003. She also spoke in regards to layout and the new Carnival Company.

 

Old Business: None

 

New Business: Discussion among the group about letting more businesses know about the MBA. Ms. Anthony will work on creating a list of businesses in the Mattawan area. The MBA will then divide the list and create a call list.

 

Comments from the Public: Mr. Wagoner asked if there was an email list to let people in the community and the MBA know what is going on. Ms. Anthony stated that there is such a list already in existence on the web site, she further stated that there is also a community calendar that anyone can use to post announcements, etc.

 

Adjournment: Motion by Ms. Benson, support by Mr. Jackson. All in favor motion to adjourn carried at 12:45 p.m.
