Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2010

Call to order at 12:05 pm

Attendance: Lori, Jean, Kayla, Linda, Kathy, Dawn, Lauren, Don, Laura, Treva, Debbie, Alex and Joseph.

Welcome to new guest: Debbie Roberts introduced herself to the group, she is going to be opening a new business in Mattawan called Fashions to Remember by Debbie Roberts.

Approval of the March 3, 2010 meeting minutes: motion by Don supported by Kayla to approve the minutes as written. Motion carries.

Treasurers Report: Kayla presented the board with her monthly report. She noted that it was showing Feb interest as she was going off a March statement. She is going to apply for electronic statements so she can keep more up to date.

Bills to be paid: Payment to Lori's Web Design for $94.99 for the hosting of the web site and for domain renewal. Motion by Dawn supported by Lauren, motion to pay bill carries. Taxes: Motion by Lauren seconded by Kathy to pay accountant up to $400 to get taxes done. Motion carries.

New Business

Spring Community Guide: The board reviewed the draft of the Spring edition of the guide. Possible 3 ads to go into guide from Treva, Debbie and 1st Community. idea for a coupon of the month to be published to encourage people to retain the guide. Interested businesses in the coupon were Lauren, Treva, 1st Community and Debbie Roberts. Don suggested a form in the guide for individuals to fill out for the holiday extravaganza to be entered into a giveaway and receive a fall edition of the guide.

Unfinished Business

Golf Outing: Alex shared costs from 3 different golf courses for the outing, all included hot dog, chip and drink for lunch, dinner, 18 holes of golf and cart. States was $41.25 but did not provide staff support, Heritage was $61 and Thornapple was $55, both offered staff support for the outing. Motion by Linda supported by Treva to accept Thornapple as our outing location. Date for outing is August 27th. Next topic of discussion was prizes offered by TPI Golf they were; Las Vegas Trip, $500 Visa Gift Card, Taylor Made Irons and a $10,000 hole in one prize. Motion by Don supported by Lauren to approve the $349 expense for prizes from TPI Golf. Motion carries.
Sponsors - Alex asked if we were going to donate any of our proceeds to a local charity. Several ideas were discussed. A motion was made by Kayla supported by Don to donate to a local food pantry, motion carries. Alex, Joe and Ed were working on sponsorship costs. Cost per golfer was set at $65.
Fall Appreciation Dinner: The township hall was not available for September 22nd for our dinner. The entire week was not available that week and Tuesday's and Wednesdays are also not available. Sept 30th was available as was Tonya to present the honors. The board agreed to a date change.
