Call to order at 12:06 pm

Attendance: Terri, Linda, Alexandra, Kayla, Heidi, Jean, Tom, James, Treva, Angela, Amelia, Kathy, Lori, Lauren, Don, Ashley Moore, Terri, Carrie

Additions to the agenda: none

Approval of the minutes of April 7, 2010: Motion by Don supported by Kayla, motion carries

Treasurers Report: Bill for tax preparation was only $50 and we did not have to fill out a 1099

New Business

  1. Pay Pal Account:  Is board interested in Pay Pal account to accept online payments for things such as membership fees, booth fees, golf outings, registrations, and dinner tickets?  Cost of payment receipts are 2.9% plus .30 per transaction.  Example $25 holiday extravaganza booth would cost $1.03 in fees, $65 golf outing registration fees $2.19.  Motion by Kathy, supported by Don to get an account.  Motion carries.
  2. MBA event donation sheet - To be filled out and given back to Lori by June 5th.

Unfinished business

  1. Golf Outing:  Not much to talk about but did talk wth some sponsors $50 green/tee and $100 hole.  Details have not been nailed down.  May even have sponsor pay for team for their company $300 for team and recognition.  Golf outing kit $349.  If we would like $10,000 hole in one prize, an additional fee of $1.60 per golfer.  Motion made by Kathy supported by Alex to use the Mattawan Community Food Bank as our recipient of funds for their charity.
  2. Spring Community Guide:  Rolling along and mostly done.  MPI will print 500 copies for us.  Printing will be done after May 24th is fine.  Family going through cancer treatment, maybe cookbook fundraiser "Best of Mattawan Cookbook".  Proceeds go to the family for treatment.  Linda makes motion for cookbook fundraiser, supported by Kathy, motion carries.
  3. Fall Appreciation Dinner:  Have nominations submitted and voted on by August meeting.  2 choices for dinner include Wagoners and Chinn-Chinn.  Motion by Kayla, supported by Linda to use Chinn-Chinn, motion carries.

Comments:  Press release sent to Courier Leader in regards to "Citizen of the Year" and golf outing, also made not of calendar to watch for updates on web site.  Follow up after June 20th to see nominations.  Articles on our web site describing what citizen of the year should be.
