April 1, 2009 Meeting Minutes

Call to order at 12:11 pm

Attendance: Lori, Kathy, Kayla, Lauren and Tom

Additions to the agenda: None

Approval of the agenda: Motion by Kayla, supported by Lauren - motion carries

Treasurers Report: Bills to be paid $150 to the Village of Mattawan for Newsletter, motion by Kathy, supported by Kayla, motion carries.

New Business

Mattawan Community Guide - President Anthony presented an idea to the board to create a printed guide containing information about the community, event calendar, phone numbers, activities for the kids, list of notices, ads, coupons, articles and history. 500 booklets would be printed in the fall prior to the Fall dinner and again in the spring. Pricing for ads would be low priced, non profits could have 1/4 page at no-charge. MBA members get preferred placement of ads. Deadline for ad submission is July 31st.
Easter Egg Hunt - the MBA will work on a community egg hunt in the park next year

Unfinished Business

Scholarship Fund - Tom will get the applications to review then choose a recipient. A photo will be taken and put in the community guide.
Appreciation Dinner - The dinner will be held on Sept 21st. Flyers will be distributed out to businesses for better attendance.

Comments - Tom Brown volunteered to send out flyers and advertising sheets with his statements for the MBA Annual Appreciation Dinner.
